I was just nominated for the One Lovely Blog award. I never know what to think when this happens. This time, I’ll play by the rules. The rules are to:
1) thank the blogger who nominated you with a link to the site.
2) write seven things about yourself that other bloggers don’t know
3) nominate fifteen other deserving blogs
Thanks to i.arxiv for the nomination! Check it out for insightful and eclectic writing.
Seven trivial, random, and undisclosed things about me:
- Four years ago the US Army Corp of Engineers searched my property for Unexploded Ordinances (UXO) from WWII. But they missed one. I found it in my garden this spring. So, tell me, what were they really after?
- I’m a conspiracy theorist.
- My husband and I make salsa with our own tomatoes. We name each batch because it takes more time to make salsa than it does to make children (and we gave them names). It’s only fair.
- I think Vesuvius is a lovely name for anything hot.
- I’m writing a novel about an evil rabbit and MK-ULTRA.
- I drink scotch.
- I wonder if Sky King became a victim of his own crop dusting. What do you think?
And the nominees are: (Could somebody please tell me how to link better)

Thank-you all for your lovely contributions to the clouds.
Congrats! This is indeed a lovely blog. d:)
Thank-you. Glad you came by.
Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier. Someone nominated me for One Lovely Blog too but knowing nothing about it, I thought it was like a chain email and haven’t done anything about it. Think now maybe I should play along…!
Congrats and have fun!
Thank you for your visit to my blog! Congratulations on your award, and, yes I WOULD eat a salsa named Vesuvius. Or a chocolate cake…..A bomb in the garden! I like that, too…they were probably looking for their feet, the Corps of Engineers unlike the Mounties don’t always get their…sought after objects.
Haha! I like that..looking for their feet…! Thanks for visiting my site. Your comment made my day.
Our pleasure!
I’ve been nominated too. I have no idea why or what to do about it so thanks for the post! 😀
Congrats to you!
Congrats and well-deserved…love ambling about your blog…and muchas gracias for passing to veganchopnchat…I shall do my best to play by the rules!
Thank-you. And Likewise.
Love your offbeat humor. Not sure about evil rabbits, though. It’s the chipmunks I watch out for:)
Ha! You are so right. Alvin and Theodore grate my nerves.
So Ms Nine, do you ever put jalapeno in your salsas? And do you call it Vesuvius? Thanks for the like!
Oh yes! to both questions.
Those are some interesting facts. Do you grow your own peppers as well as tomatoes? I find nothing to be more fun (well that’s sort of a lie) than making my salsa with my own tomatoes, peppers, green onions, cilantro. I don’t name my salsas only because I eat them too fast. 😛
My neighbors donate their home-growns and we share. We make lots of salsa.
That sounds great. It’s been getting more difficult so grow peppers and tomatoes where I live, mostly because the weather has just not been right. I mean, last year it rained in June and even odder, it rained today. What is up with the California weather?
Thank you so much Ms. Nine! How lovely of you to think of me for this award. I am honored. Please ship some salsa my way! Oh, and congrats on your award!
I like your stuff, too. Keep it coming!
I am with you on the Vesuvius thing 🙂 There is something about this name !
Would you eat salsa named Vesuvius?
If its free, why not :))
Anything Mexican served in a plate can’t be that bad 🙂
Ha ha!
Congratulations! 🙂
Xx
Thanks, Vikki!
Congrats on the award. Thanks for nominating me for the award! I will see if I can come up with seven things about me, but really, I’m not as fascinating as you are.
About #1, I don’t think they were looking for UXO…they were planting it there. Maybe there’s a conspiracy behind it?
Yikes! That was four years ago!
Congrats on your award! And thanks for the like on my post 🙂 I’m definitely going to check out some of the blogs you posted about here, the titles alone look interesting.
As for linking, if you’re in the visual view, type out the name you want displayed on the post. To use one of your blog nominations as an example, instead of the url you might want to display the name Always the Write Time. Type that out and highlight it, then click on the tool for inserting a link. In the url field, put the full url to the blog. Then click “insert” or whatever that button. That way you have a link that displays a title rather than just the URL. Hope that is helpful!
Also, re: #5 – I am really, really intrigued.
Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you. I wondered how the link thing worked.
Glad to help! It took a lot of trial and error before I figured out how to make it work 🙂
Hey! Thanks for the ‘like’ on my first attempt at a short story. I really your today’s post. I’m not a great one for conspiracy theories but I think in this case I’d be concerned. Congrats on the nominations for the awards!
Thanks! congrats to you, too.
